Sport Update

Our Senior ACC Tennis Team has finished their season with a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses. This puts them in 8th place on the ladder. The boys have tried very hard all season against very strong opposition and their coach, Graeme Lawler, is certainly very proud of their effort and determination all season.

Both of our Volleyball Teams (A and B) have finished their seasons with a record of 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Despite this rather impressive record, both teams have finished in 3rd place and narrowly missed the Semi Finals. The boys won their matches very convincingly but were unfortunately outclassed by St Bernard’s in their final match. Coach Stokes was not only impressed with the performance of the teams but also their commitment and enthusiasm for training.

With our Senior Cricket Teams playing their final match of the season this Wednesday, 13 March, the arrangements are as follows:

First XI Cricket AWAY (Monash University) Vs Salesian with Marty Rhoden. Students will leave class at 12 Noon to travel by Bus to the venue.

Second XI Cricket at HOME (Menzies Reserve) Vs Whitefriars with Ken Stokes (Peter Larsen is at the ACC Athletics Trial Carnival). Students will leave class at 12 Noon to make their own way to the venue.

Following our De La Salle Athletics Carnival last Friday, we now continue the task of assembling our best possible Athletics Team for the ACC Division 2 Carnival on Wednesday, 27 March at Albert Park.

We are hosting some rival ACC Colleges at our Athletics Trial Carnival this Wednesday 13 March at Duncan Mackinnon Athletics Track. The current predicted temperature for Wednesday is 37 degrees so this will determine whether the Carnival will be changed from the afternoon (scheduled to begin at 12 Noon) to the morning. The time of the Carnival and the list of students attending (approximately 150 students) from Year 7 — 12 will be confirmed this Tuesday.

All of our best must run for us to return to Divvy One”!
