VCE Information Evening

On Wednesday, 12 February 2014 over 300 parents and students attended an Information Evening which was held in the College Gymnasium.

The purpose of the night was for all in attendance to be of one understanding about the key features and expectations surrounding the Victorian Certificate of Education.

Parents of all students undertaking VCE studies in 2014, along with their sons, were invited to attend the Information Evening. The invitation was extended to parents with students at Years 11 and 12, as well as Year 10 students currently completing a VCE study as part of their program.

The program for the evening included:-

  • a Welcome and Address by the Principal;
  • Information about how the VCE works by the Deputy Principal — Teaching and Learning and VCE Coordinator;
  • Information about Careers and Tertiary Entrance by the Pathways Coordinator; and
  • Campus Issues, attended to by Head of Campus – Kinnoull.

The content covered regularly pointed to the critical importance of students aiming to do their very best at each stage of their schooling, whether it be through academic studies or co-curricula pursuits.

Those in attendance collected a personalised letter containing Moodle and Parent Teacher online login information. These letters will be mailed out to those not able to attend in coming days. In addition, the full presentation is available to download.

Thank you to all of the people supporting the evening through their attendance, as well as the many staff contributing to the preparation of the night.

Suggestions for improvement of the evening for next year were sought from parents. A feedback survey was distributed at the end of the evening. Please forward any survey forms still to be returned to the Tiverton Administration Office.
