Pastoral Care and Organisation
Mission Action Day will be held on Friday March 27. This is the College’s major social justice activity for 2015, with proceeds directly supporting the work of Lasallian charities in Australia and overseas.
The event is a walk commencing from Basil St Reserve (Darling Park) and winding on a circuit of Gardiner’s Creek walking trails; a distance of about 12 km.
The event is a whole school activity with all staff and students involved. Boys are asked to make a big effort to finalise sponsorship pledges over the next week to help us reach our target of $100,000.
All families will receive a comprehensive letter next week outlining the arrangements for the event.
The key details are:
Year 4–12 students are to report with their sponsorship forms to Basil St Reserve by 9:00am. It is anticipated the event will conclude at 11:30am.
All students are to make their own way to the venue and will be dismissed from the venue at the conclusion of the event. Please note at the conclusion of the event, once all administrative duties have been finalised, any students remaining will be brought back to De La Salle College (Tiverton Campus) and will be asked to wait at the reception area for their parents/guardians.
Neat casual clothes may be worn, with appropriate footwear for walking, sunscreen and a hat.
A reminder to parents that permission forms are now overdue and must be returned to your son/s Homeroom Teacher/s as soon as possible.
The College office at Tiverton will be open between 8:00am and 1:00pm on Friday 27 March.
Lenten Liturgy and Co-curricula Assembly
On Thursday 26 March in Period 5, the College will pause and gather in prayer for the annual Lenten liturgy. This is a solemn ceremony that gives staff and students the opportunity to reflect on Jesus’ passion, death and resurrection in the lead up to Easter.
In Period 6 an assembly will be held to recognise and acknowledge the achievements of students in various co-curricula endeavours in Term 1.
