Congratulations to Noah Millard, Year 10, on his recent results at the Australian National Swiming Championships in Sydney. Noah placed third in the country for the 400 freestyle. This is a testimony to the hours and hours of time and effort Noah puts into his training schedule. In addition to this great result, Noah recently took 16 seconds off his 1500 metre time – another epic achievement! Congratulations, Noah.

Baseball

Two of our De La sportsmen were represented at the Australian Baseball National Schoolboys tournament last week in Adelaide. Infielder Benjamin Fierenzi, Year 12 and catcher Mackenzie Turley, Year 11 represented Victoria and the team were successful in winning the bronze medal at the Championships.

Benjamin Fierenzi was named in the 2018 All Australian Baseball Team selected directly from performances at the Championships, the second year in succession he has achieved this accolade.

With 2018 being an Australian Schoolboys touring year, he will now travel to the US in September with this team for a 25 day College Baseball experience, commonly recognised as the Australia’s most prestigious trip in junior baseball giving all the boys the opportunity to fulfil their dreams of playing baseball and attending college in the US in the future. Congratulations, Ben! Congratulations, Mackenzie!
