Young Lasallian Leadership Day

The Young Lasallian Leadership Day was great! There were lots of great things to learn about using my leadership influence. I enjoyed working with the Year 7, 8 and 9s, they were kind and I think that we all worked well together. Thank you for this amazing day! Oscar Sahin (Year 6)

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to participate in the 2017 Young Lasallian Leadership Day. When I walked into the PAC and everyone was throwing around a football, I knew this was going to be a good day. It was not just a good day it was a great day; a day that I will cherish in my journey through De La Salle. Phillipe absolutely exceeded my expectations with his hilarious personality and knowledge of leadership. He was really inspirational to all of us. Getting in groups and looking at the life of Saint John Baptist de La Salle was really inspirational. He was a great leader and overcame great obstacles in his life. The team building exercises were really fun and really funny. Thank you for preparing this for all of us it was a truly special moment in my life and I will remember it forever. Cohen Pedruco (Year 6)

I liked doing the activities with the Year 7, 8 and 9s and learning about being a leader. I enjoyed learning about influence and learning and hearing about the experiences of the older leaders. I liked doing the role play of St John Baptist de La Salle’s life and doing team working activities. Thomas Windsor (Year 6)

On the Young Lasallian Leadership Day we got to experience and listen to some ideas on how to be better leaders and what it means to be a leader. I learnt that leadership is influence. That means that leaders influence other people to do other good things. We played jockeys up which is basically Simon says but instead of saying Simon says he said jockeys up. We made team names and a chant. We had to display good teamwork and communicate properly as a team. King Le (Year 6)

On Friday the 1st of September, the leaders of De La Salle College Tiverton Campus all contributed in a leadership day. We did a range of activities all linked to leadership. Most of the activities involved a communication challenge to be solved. We also needed to use teamwork because without teamwork we wouldn’t be able to work together. We actually learnt the proper meaning of leadership and all the qualities leaders need to be succeed. I think that Phillipe was the perfect person to run this day because he was so inspirational and was easily admirable. All the activities we so much fun and I had a great time socialising with all the other leaders. Listening to their experiences gave me an idea on how I can be a better leader. Zane O’Keeffe (Year 6)

During the Young Lasallian Leadership Day we were forced to move out of our comfort zones. I needed to speak in front of an audience and tried to talk to people that I did not know. The Young Lasallian Leadership Day was such a great day and I learnt a lot about being my best self and being a good role model. Michael Gashi (Year 6)

The Young Lasallian Leadership Day taught me so much about team work. Jockeys up was super fun but difficult without communicating with your partner. The Young Lasallian Leadership Day showed me how to be a better leader. Alexander Rehfisch (Year 6)
