Mental Health Week

One in five Australians will experience a mental illness or serious mood disorder during their lives. Every one of us is affected by the cost – emotionally, socially and financially.

Mental Health Week seeks to focus attention on the range of psychological issues that affect people and how they may be assisted to deal effectively with them.

If you or a family member of friend wish to discuss a mental health problem, you can contact your GP, your local community mental health service or your local public hospital. For information about a range of mental health services, programs or support groups, contact the Mental Health Foundation of Australia (Victoria) on 9826 1422 or visit www.mentalhealthvic.org.au

A list of agencies is also available on the Student Wellbeing link on Moodle under the heading “agencies”.
