Class of 1912–1963 — 50+ Year Reunion
On Thursday 21 April, 120 Old Collegians gathered in the PAC, Tiverton campus, for lunch and a reunion of classmates.
Such an occasion provides for our older Collegians to come together and share stories and experiences from the past. They were all true to form and it was wonderful to see.
Our oldest Collegian present was John Whelan (88 years) who was full of life and vigor. John graduated in 1941, just 12 years after we had moved to the Tiverton site. He was closely followed by some from the years 1943⁄44. Two Old Boys also flew down from Queensland and one even made it part of a trip home from the USA. Speeches are not the order of the day but the Principal made a few observations about the progress and current position of the College and highlighted some of the distinguished old boys who were present. Among them were four De La Salle Brothers and two priests, including Fr Brendan Dillon PP, Glen Waverley.
