ACC Sporting Fixture — Term 3, Week 8

Please find attached the ACC Sport Schedule for Term 2, Week 8.

The Senior ACC First XVIII Football finished the season last Wednesday with another disappointing loss to the previously winless Mazenod by 5 goals. This 5th loss from 6 matches means that we finished in 6th place on the ladder and avoided the Wooden Spoon by percentage only.
Despite a very spasmodic season, there were some glimpses of good football played so let’s hope that 2015 can be a more consistent and successful season for our First XVIII Team.
Thank you to Peter Larsen, Ken Stokes and Graeme Lawler for coaching and managing the First XVIII Team throughout this term. The lack of team success was certainly no reflection of the time, effort and passion from the Coaching Staff.
Our Year 10 ACC Football Team finished their season on a high recording their second win for the season away against St Bernard’s. With 2 wins from 6 matches, this team finished in 5th place on the ACC Ladder.
Thank you to Tim Hogan, Mick Petrie and Brendan Close for coaching and managing the Year 10 Football Team throughout this term. This team was very competitive all season and let’s hope that many of these boys will strive hard to become part of our 2015 First XVIII Team.
With all Year 7 and 8 Football and Soccer Teams playing their final round matches this Thursday 12 June, it appears that our Year 8 ACC Football Team are our best chance for an ACC Grand Final. Should the Year 8 boys defeat Whitefriars away next week, it will guarantee them a place at “The Big Dance” on 19 June.
Our Year 8 ACC Soccer Team play in their Minor Play Off match this Thursday and all other Year 7 and 8 Football and Soccer Teams will play again on 19 June to determine final ladder placings for the season.
