Students contribute to community art

Earlier this year Police Sergeant Neil Schlittler contacted the College with a proposal to paint a second traffic signal box located on High St, opposite the park near Spring Rd. In 2013 De La Salle students painted the traffic signal box on High St opposite the Tiverton Campus with great success.

A number of wonderful designs were submitted to Vic Roads. Graffiti Resource Officer Jamie Remfry selected Lucas Humes’ design Orange Tree to be painted on the traffic signal box. Lucas is a Year 11 Visual Communication Design student at the College who hopes to make design his chosen career.

Orange Tree is certainly a feature in the community. It’s curling branches, scattered leaves and oranges against an intense light blue background, brings art to the community for everyone to enjoy.
