Chaplain’s Notes

SAM_1064 (2).webAs we head towards the end of the first term we are preparing our whole school liturgy to remember and celebrate the gift of Salvation. Students and staff will participate in a ceremony that recalls the events of Holy Thursday. Principal Peter Houlihan and College Captain Elliot Fabris will wash the feet of representatives of our community.

A pageant that brings to mind the agony of the passion and crucifixion will be enacted by students followed by a festival of light, rejoicing in the freedom gained for us in Jesus’ death and Resurrection.

I take this opportunity to wish all families a blessed and joyous celebration in your parishes during Holy Week.

Commissioning Mass: It was wonderful to see families gather last Sunday and pledge their commitment to supporting each other during the Sacrament preparations planned this year.

The Sacrament of Penance or First Reconciliation will be held in the College Chapel on Tuesday 21 April at 7:00pm.

Confirmation will be celebrated on Sunday 9 August 2015 at 11:00am. Mass at St Anthony’s Parish Glen Huntly. Classes will commence in Term 2.

Confirmation Retreat Day is planned for Tuesday 28 July 2015.

First Communion will be celebrated on Sunday 15 November 2015.

May you enjoy the forthcoming holidays.
