The ACC Stage Band (31 August) and Rock Band (14 Sept) days took place at Parade College and CBC St Kilda respectively this term.
Students from De La Salle were able to explore styles and work within the ACC network to create a range of exciting music. The rock band day features a battle of the bands which saw our entrant, Wood and Steel, perform to a high level. The band consists of three Year 11 students, Addison Rowland, Jack Rhodes and Cooper Chant. Congratulations to all involved on a terrific effort at the ACC days.
There have been several notable performances as our musicians contribute to the wider College events. The Saxophone Ensemble recently performed at the Father’s Day Breakfast along with Addison Rowland playing a solo set.
The Flute Ensemble performed a set at the opening night of the Arts Exhibition, three students stepped up to perform in the inaugural The Voice competition, and many performers took to the stage the for the music event ‘Colour’.
Year 10 Music Industry Event
The recent music event Colour was organised by the Music Industry class in Year 10. Students developed the event from conception to completion. The event raised $289.90 for the charity Minus 18, helping young people to find their identity. The stage was filled with seven artists from De La and OLSH and provided a wonderful range of music and energy. The event was a success and the class look forward to running OZ Music Month in November.
