Pastoral Care and Organisation

The first House Athletics Carnival in a number of years will occur at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park on Friday 6 March. Many weeks of preparation have gone into this event and we are expecting a keen competition across all year levels and events.

This is a compulsory event for all staff and students. Parents are most welcome to attend (please note the parking information below).

All students are to wear sports uniform to school, then change to a plain coloured t‑shirt corresponding with their House colour at Lakeside Stadium.

In 2016 a new House sports shirt will be required. This is not yet available. Parents and students will be notified later in the year when this garment becomes available.

Students should also bring sunscreen, a hat and a rain jacket.

Students may bring a smaller bag or backpack rather than their schoolbag.

Competitors may wear spikes for competition (if they have them).

First aid and medication

First aid facilities will be available to students. Students are reminded to bring any medication required.


All students are to report to Homeroom at 8:40am for roll marking and instructions about transport to Lakeside Stadium. An afternoon roll call will occur at the end of the carnival (about 2:15pm).


To venue: Bus from the College (all students)

From venue: Bus returning to College approx. 3:00pm

(Students who have been given parental permission to leave from the venue will be dismissed at 2:30pm).

On arrival at Lakeside Stadium students are to assemble in their designated House area. These will be marked with banners.


No canteen facilities will be available at Lakeside Stadium. Students will not be permitted to leave the venue during the carnival. Students must bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks. A refillable water bottle is recommended.

Prohibited items

  • Balls – football, soccer, basketball, down-ball etc. will not be permitted. Balls will be confiscated by staff.
  • Frisbees, vortex etc.
  • iPads/PCs. These will be confiscated by staff and returned at the end of the day.
  • Musical instruments.
  • Portable speakers.

Parking directions for parents

There are a number of road closures and access restrictions due to the set up for the Grand Prix. Parents are advised to use Aquatic Drive and Albert Road Drive as parking locations.

Parking meters ONLY accept coins, with notes/card payment options unavailable. Please refer to the attached Lakeside Stadium parking map for information surrounding parking charges throughout the day that will apply.

College office hours

Kinnoull office will be closed on Friday.

Tiverton office will be open 8.00 am – 4.30 pm.

Parents are asked to contact the Tiverton Office if their son is absent on Friday.
