The Bishop met with the students last Thursday and expressed his pleasure in the readiness of our young men to receive the Sacrament. There was much excitement and nervous tension amongst the candidates on their big day which culminated in broad smiles and a wonderful sense of community for their families.

We also congratulate Harrison Cutts, Koby Maurice, Daniel Van den Berg and Clay Devlin who have prepared for Confirmation this year and joined their local parish.

Year 8 investigate through literature the plight of refugees

All Year 8 students have been reading and discussing the experiences and world view of refugees, especially young people like themselves. In the process, Year 8J, under the creative talents of Ms Finn, set out a display in the Year 8 corridor to highlight the reality ‘that we are all refugees’. The display included Pope Francis’ response to the needs of the dispossessed and homeless, novels that informed student thinking, a video clip and a wall of paper boats.
