Mission Action Day 2019 – Friday 5 April
Mission Action Day, or MAD as we know it, is underway for 2019!
As one of the major fundraising events at the College, MAD offers a wonderful opportunity for the entire De La family — students, parents, staff and friends of the College — to band together, seek sponsorship and provide much needed financial support to Lasallian missions both in Australia and overseas.

A strong tradition of our commitment to social justice is reflected in the amazing efforts of the De La community over many years, raising funds to enable a range of projects to proceed and Make A Difference to the lives of so many in need. In the past few years alone, over $100,000 a year has been distributed to projects in Papua New Guinea, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and local missions to name a few.
Students in particular, are being encouraged to focus on why we are making the effort to go somewhat out of our way and devote some time and energy to gaining as many sponsors as they can to support this cause and put our social justice commitment into practice.
So let’s get to it!! Let’s do everything we can to make MAD 2019 a

De La Salle Basketball Club – Friday Night Competition
The City of Monash has announced a major refurbishment of the Oakleigh Recreation Centre facility commencing in May 2019. The current Summer 2018/2019 Season which will conclude at the end of Term 1 will, therefore, spell the end of this competition and of the club.
Br Gerry Barrett commenced this club in 1995 and it is a bit sad to see it fold after 24 years, however, the announcement of the refurbishment of the ORC makes it impossible to continue.
I acknowledge and thank the many parents who have contributed to the operation of the club over the years. When the stadium reopens any basketball competitions will come under the Waverley Basketball Association. At that time interested parents may care to recommence offering a social competition.
