The Lasallian Mission in Papua New Guinea
Calling for your assistance, please! Did you know that some Australian Lasallian schools (and some non-Lasallian schools, too), generously donate to our PNG Containers’ Project? We have been sending used tables, chairs, desks, filing cabinets, computers, sports gear and clothing, stationery, textbooks, and so on, all of which are superfluous to Australian schools’ requirements, to support Lasallian staff and students in our schools in PNG. The Project has made a wonderful contribution to the range of goods available for our PNG cousins, and when the containers are emptied, we convert them into teacher housing in Port Moresby. (Yes, housing in Port Moresby is very expensive).
All good so far sounds great, but purchasing a 40-foot container, paying for storage of donated goods awaiting shipping to PNG, plus the associated freight forwarding and Customs charges, is an expensive exercise. Maybe you are in the shipping, trucking or customs agency businesses yourself, or you have contacts who are? Maybe you have spare space in a factory or warehouse which we might be able to use occasionally? Maybe you have goods like the ones described above which are no longer needed?
If the answer is ‘yes’ to any of these questions, we invite you to contact Joanne Nehme, the Lasallian Volunteers’ Coordinator for Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea, at joannenehme@delasalle.org.au or on 02 9795 6400, who will be very happy to discuss these matters with you.
Latest changes in Ollie

Parents are encouraged to view subject courses online via our College Learning Management System Ollie.
Parents now have access to view all subjects available at the College. To view subject courses click on the subject’s icon located at the top of your Ollie screen. This will assist in keeping parents abreast of the upcoming work in each of your son’s subjects. Parents have access to view due dates, submitted work as well as all student’s results and feedback entered by his subject teacher on Ollie. We also ask that you ensure your son is utilising the Ollie calendar to record his homework. Parents and teachers are able to view your son’s Ollie calendar to view homework and to work together in supporting your son’s organisation and homework load.
In the lead up to the House Sports Carnival, House pages, are now available. This will help keep you up to date with all the latest information regarding your son’s house, including House Charity, student leaders, news and events.

For further information on how Ollie enables you to be involved in your son’s learning journey at the College please refer to the Parent User Guide located on the Ollie homepage.
