Students in Years 7 and 8 have some fantastic core and extra-curricular activities in Term 2.

Year 7

  • From Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May students will be undertaking a three-day adventure camp at Ace High at Cape Schanck and a two-day activities program including a religious education retreat, yoga and personal training classes and more time on getting-to-know-you activities within mentor groups.
  • NAPLAN testing for Year 7 students will take place Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 May.
  • For the Founder’s Day Tercentenary Celebrations at St John’s Dandenong on Friday 17 May we ask students to wear full school uniform with shirts and ties.
  • On Thursday 13 June Semester One classes finish. Semester 2 classes begin on Monday 17 June.
  • Our AFL Football Lightning Premiership will be contested on Thursday 27 June. May the best team win!

Year 8

  • The Year 8 AFL Football Lightening Premiership will be held on Thursday 2 May.

Important notices for parents

There are two important parent information evenings with a strong personal development focus that will fall during Term 2. 

Year 7 and Year 8 Parent CyberSafety information evening 

Monday 6 May 

This event will be held in the PAC on the Tiverton campus, commencing at 6:30pm. The information evening will be facilitated by cybersafety expert, Susan McLean. Susan spoke with the Year 7 students earlier in Term 1, 2019 regarding cybersafety, was a member of the Victorian Police for 27 years and is widely known as the “cyber cop”. Susan is the author of A Definitive Guide for Parents, Sext, Texts & Selfies – How to Keep Your Children Safe in the Digital Space (Penguin).

Year 7 Time and Space Mother and Son evening 

Monday 20 May

The popular Year 7 Time and Space Mother and Son evening coordinated by Bill Jennings will be held in the Gym on the Tiverton Campus on Monday 20 May, commencing at 6:30pm. Time & Space programs are designed to strengthen and grow relationships, especially during times of change and transition such as the beginning of Year 7. More details will follow.
