The Principal's Report

SchoolTV created a report that explains the current state of youth mental health in the COVID-19 era and offers guidance on how to best support young people today.

Learning and Teaching

As we face the adjustments required by moving into another lockdown, staff and students have been responsive to the now well-established routines and patterns of remote learning at the College.

Staff and Operations

Last week we held our first emergency drill for the year. This involved a “Lockdown Drill” at Kinnoull and Tiverton Campus’. These drills ensure that as a College we are well placed to deal with an emergency situation should it arise.

Senior students returned to Kinnoull refreshed and recharged after the Term 2 holidays. In the coming week during GROW, students will work closely with their Mentor to analyse and review their Semester One academic report.

Over the coming weeks, Year 9 students will be undertaking a series of seminars and presentations as they consider their subjects and pathways for the senior campus.

It has been a big week in the Year 5 and 6 classes with students participating in Netball and Soccer Lightning Premierships, exploring Scienceworks and welcoming Claire Papaluca as our Year 6 classroom teacher.

House Sport

At the end of Term 2 we held our annual Lightning Premiership for Years 7 - 9 where the soccer and football superstars came out to shine in a House event quite like no other.

Our start to Round 1 this season was amazing. In the first two days of games, we won 7 of 10 games played, with one of the losses being a double overtime loss in the senior basketball.

Music Report

After many months of planning and many a prayer, Music Tour 2021 to the Southern Grampians region took place last week with 60 students from Years 8 - 12.
