Student Wellbeing

GROW:
Thank you to all parents who have completed the survey on teaching consent at De La Salle. If you would still like to complete it, the link is here. We will continue to develop the GROW wellbeing program to encompass consent, as well as mental health and tools for wellbeing.

For Year 8 Parents:
As you might already know, we are excited to be offering the Future Proofing Study to all Year 8 students here at De La Salle College. If you haven’t already done so, please could you let us know of your decision regarding your child’s involvement in this study? You can visit the following website to complete the consent form online.

Researchers at the Black Dog Institute and the University of New South Wales are working with over 170 schools to build a better understanding of the mental health challenges that young people experience. Students in the study will complete surveys and try out mental health apps in order to identify and prevent symptoms of depression and anxiety. Participating students will also be reimbursed with a $20 gift card they can spend at most major department stores and online retailers.

The results of this study have real potential to shape scientific knowledge and government policy and programs for youth mental health. For this reason, we are very keen to get a good representation from De La Salle College!
