Learning Support Officer, Thomas Edwards, has launched his new book titled "Locked Down".
|
The idea for the book came during our first lockdown in 2020. Back at school, Thomas discussed his germ of an idea with staff and was encouraged to keep writing. Then in the winter lockdown, with little else to do, he took the story and finished it. What resulted was a teen action adventure in the style of Matthew Reilly or Anthony Horowitz. Set in a school in Sydney in late 2020, it is a fast-paced action adventure featuring a siege and student kidnapping. It was picked up by a publisher in early 2021 and initially published in eBook (Kindle) format although a print edition is in the wings. The book is available for purchase as an eBook here.

On the day students participated in the “Write a Book in a Day” project, staff and students were invited to Thomas' online book launch. Thomas read from the book and discussed the writing process.

What better time to launch a book born in lockdown, titled “Locked Down” than in lockdown!
