Shared Stories Anthology on 'Chasing Happiness'

As the Coordinator for De La Salle College’s entries into Shared Stories this year, I have already seen incredibly imaginative and thoughtful responses. The best student entries pertaining to the topic of ‘Chasing Happiness’ will be published in the Shared Stories Anthology. The topic allows students to respond in a variety of ways. Students who have been involved thus far are writing poems, narratives, and have also been creating drawings. The idea of happiness is unique and deeply personal to every student, which is why it is a fantastic theme for students to engage with. Students have different interests and passions in life. This makes each entry fascinating to read or observe in the case of a drawing. I often encourage entries by asking three questions. What is happiness? Is it defeating? Or, is happiness the true ideal in life?

Of course, the theme of ‘Chasing Happiness’ sounds great, but is the constant pursuit of happiness actually worthwhile? A student can explore this through many different creative lenses.

Students are invite to submit their responses to jpertile@delasalle.vic.edu.au. Both short and long responses (under 850 words) are acceptable for this year’s Shared Stories Anthology. You might just get published!
