The Archives are moving to a New Home!
|
In 2022 the Archives will be relocating from Kinnoull Campus to Tiverton Campus. I have many plans and ideas to make the Archives more accessible to the College community as well as becoming more involved in classrooms into the future. It’s been a huge undertaking to pack up the many items including trophies, Rock Eisteddfod awards, artwork, uniforms and the large number of documents. Next year you will see more of these items featured in Duce issues as well as on display around campuses.

I have spent some time with Br Peter Smythe over the past few weeks learning about the College’s history and development. One of the College successes, of which he is very proud, is the strong tradition of Weightlifting as a sport through the 1970s and beyond. Today’s image is from the 1976 Blue and Gold. This team were again State Champions and had over 60 members representing the College in that competition. Their hope, at that time, was to have some of these students attend the Junior World Competition in 1977. Did this happen??? You’ll have to wait until next year for that answer – enjoy your break!
