Student Wellbeing

I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome you to De La Salle for the 2022 school year.

The start to the year has been busy, as students return to school and reconnect with College life. This has involved orientation sessions, House and Year Level assemblies, mentor time and other activities to support students engaging again with their teachers and each other.

Families in our community have been impacted by COVID-19, and we thank those parents, guardians and students for working in partnership with us to ensure clear communication and continuity of learning. The College is always here to support students and their families and urge those affected to reach out to College staff if they are in need.

In the College’s Wellbeing area, we have clear priorities for 2022:
  • We will seek reaccreditation with the Australian Childhood Foundation, making sure the College has a clear and prominent safeguarding culture, with the safety of all children and young people at the forefront of our work.
  • We will continue to focus on Respectful Relationships across the College – between peers, teachers, families and regarding relationships with women. The importance of respect will continue to be prominent and positive throughout 2022.
  • We continue to develop the GROW Wellbeing program, which involves all students across the College participating in age appropriate social and emotional learning activities, tailored to the needs of De La Salle students.
  • The mental health of young men remains a clear priority for the Wellbeing Team, particularly through the impact of COVID-19. We will continue to work to engage parents and partners in this sphere of College life.
