From the Archives

From the Archives:
At the end of last year I informed you that the Archives office was moving from Kinnoull to Tiverton Campus. After much cleaning and organising, we are open for business. Come and find T613 (it’s easy to spot with the door label and my special Archives sign!!) If you’re interested in the College's history, or would like to see some old photos of your father or grandfather, the range of trophies in the collection, or want to browse some past (printed!!) editions of our school publications, then come and visit me on a Tuesday or Wednesday. You can contact me on archivist@delasalle.vic.edu.au .

Weightlifting
In the last Duce we left you on a cliff-hanger question of whether any of the students would make the Junior World Championships in 1977. After announcing that the Weightlifting team had won the Victorian Schoolboys Championship for the third year in a row, the 1977 Blue and Gold lists four lifters chosen to represent Victoria in the National Schoolboys Championship. Mark Shanahan (pictured) won Silver in the Paperweight division (up to 49 kgs), and Brendan Webster won bronze in the Bantam (56 kgs). Andrew Forrest (pictured) who, in 1977 was the Victorian Record holder in his weight division, went on to represent Australia in the Junior World Championship in 1980 held in Montreal, Canada.
