Week 8 is grand final week and a short re-cap is below from all three grand final fixtures:

Hockey: the Year 10's have added another hockey pennant to the long list with a hard fought and gritty 3 - 0 victory over a very strong St Bede's side. Well done to the team and special thanks to Andrew Wozencroft for his hard work and expertise. A job well done indeed!

Unfortunately, the St Bede’s senior team turned the tables and beat our senior team 5 - 1 at the state hockey centre. De La Salle dominated the first 10 minutes but were unable to put any scoreboard pressure on and St Bede’s made them pay with three second half goals. Thanks so much to Georgie Skinner for coaching the team this year, her hockey expertise was very much valued.

It was a disappointing way to end such a great year and this game is the end for some of the Year 12's sports journey at the College. I'd like to thank all of those Year 12's who've given so much time and effort to the Sports program over a number of years. It’s your passion and dedication that makes my job so much easier, so thank you.

Basketball: Year 9A have unfortunately lost their final game against Parade College at MSAC. In a tight contest all day, Parade College were too good when it counted, winning 59 to 52. Special thanks to Susan Kiernan who organised the students all year in what amounted to be a really successful season. Well done lads and we'll go one better next year.
