Music Report

On Tuesday evening, 75 De La Salle musicians across Years 6 - 12 joined another 500 students from all 12 ACC schools for a combined concert 12 months in the making, at the prestigious Hamer Hall.

The two hour concert featured students from all ACC schools mingling together to form combined concert bands, choirs, rock, guitar and jazz ensembles and a symphony orchestra. The concert concluded with a magnificent orchestra and chorus rendition of John Farnham’s You’re the Voice. Many De La Salle staff were also heavily involved in the organisation, logistics and performances of the event.

The spirit of collaboration was very strong, with not only friendships developing amongst our students, but also across schools through their shared love of music.

The excitement of performing on the largest and most impressive stage in Melbourne was an educational highlight bound to become a treasured experience.

Responses from the audience:
  • “Congratulations on a spectacular event last night. The students all seemed so pumped to be part of the event. The items were amazing and a testament to you all as teachers.”
  • “Great concert tonight – a real treat to sit back and enjoy all the incredible music.”
  • “What an amazing night at Hamer Hall! We were absolutely spell bound by the talent of all the young musicians. Thank you for your endless support, time and energy. Congratulations to all the teachers and students!”
Hopefully in 2025 we’ll get to do it all again!
