Whilst many students across the College were enjoying the luxury of a well earnt sleep-in during the school holidays, spare a thought for our hard working Year 12 VCE students. During Week 2 of the Term break, a total of 718 VCE trial exam papers were sat, over 15 sessions spanning 39 hours and 15 minutes. Most students completed a full complement of trial exams.

Student focus, behaviour and commitment was commendable over this critical period of preparation. But, as mentioned to the cohort last week, the real benefit of a trial examination period is what happens when the feedback is received. Both an assurance of understanding and a fine tuning of the process remains paramount. Subject teachers remain your greatest asset in the lead up to exams.

I conclude with a thought from James Clear, author of Atomic Habits. Winners and Losers often have the same goals - so if you want to achieve your goals, focus should be placed on the system. That is, the system of preparation that occurs during SWOTVAC *.

I wish all VCE students every success over the coming weeks.
