Primary News

The end of Primary School years marks a significant time of independence, maturity and excitement for students in Year 6. Last week students shared in a wonderful day of fun and friendship at Luna Park. They had the opportunity to participate in a range of dare devil activities and rides including the scenic railway, dodgem cars, the pirate ship and the scissors ride. Luna Park was closed to the general public and students could go on as many, or as few, rides as they wished. It certainly was a day to remember!

Following on from Luna Park, the Year 6 students hosted a Learning Expo whereby parents were invited to visit the Duffy Building and view samples of work across a wide range of subjects. Students proudly showed off their Business and Economics innovation projects, their celebrations around the world projects, their scratch coding games and various Writing, Science, GROW and Religious Education work samples.

After the Learning Expo a formal student led Year 6 Graduation was held in the PAC. This was an opportunity for the graduating Primary class of 2022 to say thank you to their teachers and parents, as well as to celebrate their public speaking, musical and singing talents.

As the year draws to a close, we give thanks for all the blessings of 2022 - for the personal, emotional and academic growth the Year 6 students have made, for the ongoing support from family and friends, and finally, for making it through a wonderful year together. The joy of being able to resume excursions, incursions and College celebrations needs never be taken for granted!
