Help for Ukrainian Humanitarian Mission
A message from Craig Williams, well known champion jockey and winner of the 2019 Melbourne Cup and his Ukrainian-born wife, Larysa:

On 24 February 2022, the Russian Federation invaded its neighbour Ukraine.

Larysa and I were broken by the accounts of the brutality against civilians. We knew we needed to do something. We set out with a purpose and commitment to contribute to saving lives in Ukraine.

Through the Thoroughbred Racing Industry we were able to raise around $750,000 to date. Tim, Larysa and I have collectively been into Ukraine on four occasions to deliver items such as trauma, survival kits, food parcels, purified water, diesel generators and essential clothing. The four vehicles used on our second trip to deliver supplies were repurposed into ambulances since the war began.

Our organisation has now partnered up with the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), Rotary Australia and the Australian Defense Force (ADF) to help with logistics and further target our life saving trauma kits and essential supplies to people most affected by the war. We are overwhelmed by the understanding, generosity and support of Australians who live over 15,000 kms away. We feel obliged to continue to save as many lives as we can.

As we’ve seen in the last nine months, the amount of destruction and devastation in targeting the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine by Russian Federation’s military forces have shown us the things that we take for granted such as fresh water, electricity, heating and a roof above your head that are not a given for the people of Ukraine.
