THE DUCE NEWSLETTER ISSUE 39

9 FEBRUARY 2023

From the Health Centre

De La Salle College is facilitating the Stonnington Public Health Unit vaccination session on Wednesday 8 March for current Year 7 and Year 10 students and consent cards have already been sent home.

Missed school vaccinations?
We are also providing an opportunity to assist to all students who may have missed their school vaccinations due to COVID-19 interruptions, previously absent or who had not completed a consent previously.
The vaccination program offered is:
Year 7
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) – 2 dose program
Diphtheria-tetanus-whooping cough –1 dose program
Year 10
Meningococcal ACWY – 1 dose program

If your son has not previously completed the program and requires catch up vaccinations we have an immunisation session on Wednesday 8 March 2023 at the college and will accept appointments for catch up of missed vaccinations.

Missing these important vaccines can put students at an increased risk of illness and diseases for which they are being vaccinated against.
The Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common, contagious virus that can lead to cancers and diseases in all genders.
To check if your son is due for any vaccines, check your son’s immunisation history statement on the Australian Immunisation Register using your MyGov account. If your son is over 14, they will need to access their immunisation history statement themselves through their own MyGov account or the Medicare mobile app.

If you have any queries email directly the Stonnington Council immunisation team immunise@stonnington.vic.gov.au or telephone 8290 3335/8290 1459 for assistance or to discuss an alternative date.
Please note, signed consent will need to be arranged and completed with the Stonnington Public Health Unit prior to the catch up immunisation session.
