Learning and Teaching 2023

A warm welcome to all new and returning students and families to 2023. Mother Teresa once said, “Peace begins with a smile”. Watching students begin their journey at De La Salle and return from previous years as they entered the College, there were many smiles and a few tired eyes, from the no doubt earlier wake up than usual.

It has been a fantastic start to the school year across all three campuses. The positive attitude and warmth the students have shown staff and each other is a very encouraging sign for a good year ahead. The readiness to learn and get on with the hard work required for success has been somewhat inspiring. We are all excited about the achievement that the 2023 year will bring to our students and wider community.

In 2023, the College will continue to refine teaching and learning programs to ensure that our students will be 21st Century ready – equipped with the necessary skill, knowledge and competencies such as analytical skills, collaboration and problem-solving. Students will continue to be drivers in their learning through accessing OLLIE (Online Learning Interactive Environment). This platform makes visible to all stakeholders both the learning sequences and the assessments for each term, for each course. 2023 promises to be a very busy and exciting year, I would encourage all students to immerse themselves in the diversity of programs the College has to offer.
