Holy Eucharist Campus
Year 9

As part of our Holy Eucharist course, Year 9 students have a 50 minute timetabled GROW period. This is a dedicated time for growth, reflection and extension guided by their mentor teacher in place of a daily morning homeroom.

Throughout the year, the schedule for GROW is reflective of our term-based theme focuses. For example, in Term 3 for ‘Futures’, we undertook our Futures Launch which guided all students in choosing pathways and subjects for senior school and considering further education or career paths beyond Year 12.

Our Term 4 theme is ‘Legacy’. The program we are currently delivering is ‘Safe Partying’ which focuses on the teenage brain, alcohol and drugs, amongst other topics. We believe in the importance of educating our young men in this social area as part of their holistic development and we have therefore dedicated time to ensuring the program is as authentic and powerful as possible.

We have organised guest speakers from organisations such as Elephant Ed, Toolbox Education and the Pat Cronin Foundation (end the coward punch) to enrich our Term 4 GROW program. There has been great engagement from the students in this space. We encourage families to discuss these important topics at home with their son or sons.
