From the Archives
I’m currently catching up on some cataloguing and adding items to the database which have been catalogued on paper in past years. In a box donated some time ago by past staff member, Murray Ennis, was an interesting collection. Some of you will remember Murray as he worked at the College between 1974 and 2020 teaching English, Economics, Legal Studies and Technology over the years.

The box contained items Murray collected over many years of visiting Lasallian schools and educational conferences in Australia, SE Asia and the US. Pictured are some of the items in this collection – cloth badges, keyrings, school banners / pennants from schools and universities in Penang, North and South America, books on the history of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and Saint Miguel Febres Cordero. The collection also has a yearbook from La Salle High School in California, and from other schools a memorial plate, display box of teaspoons, a uniform cap and paper weight. These will be used in some new displays around our campuses in 2023.

I’m looking forward to meeting with Murray in the near future to get some more background information about these items which provide a basis for significance assessments.
