Youth Leadership Conference

On Monday 28th February the Year 9 Leaders of Holy Eucharist attended the State Youth Leadership conference. The event brings together some of the state’s most influential leaders and aims to empower students with the confidence to be change-makers in their schools. Moreover, it provides young people with the skill-set to be the greatest version of themselves. I asked each Year 9 leader what their key takeaway was:

“Although sometimes we get discouraged by our mistakes, it is important that they occur to further our success. Success only comes from these failures. Thomas James

“The seminar was a great learning experience for all the year 9 leaders. We learnt from CEOs and facilitators about their journey to success and how they dealt with their struggles.” Adrian Jackson

“You must feed your courage and not to your fear.” Caspar D’arcy Fox

“I learnt what a leader needs to do. I also learned that people will inevitably face hard challenges but you can always figure out a way through these challenges. Noah Ockwell

Own your story. Use it as motivation to push you. Luke Mahimarajan

I learnt that being a leader is not being perfect. Its about learning, teaching others and being a good role model. A leader is resilient and can bounce back from setbacks.” Arni Borradale

“Everyone has the capacity to be a leader… you just need to push forward, care for others, and make sure that you exclude no one.” Lincoln Pattern

A leader doesn’t need to be a dictator at the front of the pack. Often you might need to change your environment if you want to grow. Lincoln Higginbotham

“Even if you do not have a leaders badge, you still have the capacity to be a great leader.
Alex Pearce

I wish these young leaders all the best in being men-of-action at Holy Eucharist Campus in 2023.
