STEM Excursion to GP Formula 1

Students taking part in Year 10 and Year 11 STEM and Systems Engineering classes got the opportunity to travel to Albert Park for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix to experience all the learning and hands on STEM they have to offer.

The students spent the morning exploring the Tech Hub, taking part in experiences from Formula 1, Melbourne University Racing, iFly and many more. Students also took part in presentations from BAE Systems, Micro Focus and World Supercross. As the day went on students had the opportunity to watch the engineering in action with the Formula 1 warm-up session and the Formula’s 2 and 3 qualifying.

The highlight for many students was the unique experience to compete against each other and professional pit crews in a Formula 1 pitstop time trail challenge.
