The Principal's Report

As we eagerly anticipate and embrace the conclusion of yet another highly active term, I would like to highlight a number of reflections and acknowledgments.

In recent weeks, we've witnessed a diverse range of musical performances, starting with our Annual Winter Ensembles Concert and followed by our four House Soirees last week. These events beautifully showcased the incredible talent of our music students. Additionally, the extensive months of preparation for The De La Salle College and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart performance of Agatha Rex (28 and 29 August), as well as our ongoing participation in drama and musical events with Sacre Coeur, have all led up to the production of Bring It On. These events serve as excellent examples of the opportunities we provide for our students to broaden their educational experiences beyond the confines of De La Salle College by collaborating with neighbouring girls’ schools.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the parents who participated in our annual De La Salle College Golf Day held at Spring Valley Golf Club last Friday. Kirsten Eabry, our Community Relations and Events Manager, demonstrated exceptional skills in organising the event, which included overseeing the competitions for the closest-to-the-pin and longest drive, as well as managing the delightful lunch provided. Despite the weather's attempts, the event maintained a wonderful social ambiance, with everyone seizing the chance to connect and engage with fellow members of our De La Salle College community. I eagerly anticipate our 2024 gathering.

May all our students and staff enjoy a fantastic and thoroughly deserved holidays, although I am sure that our Year 12 students will be hard at work studying for their upcoming trial examinations during the second week of the September Break.
