The inaugural Battle of the Bands and De La La La Vocal Contest took place on Thursday 30 March in the PAC, in the presence of a large and enthusiastic crowd.

Five bands (featuring students from Years 8 to 11) and six vocal soloists (from Years 10 to 11) delivered a diverse evening of rock, punk, heavy metal, music theatre, pop and folk rock to delight all who attended.

Augmenting the stunning student performances was a spectacular light show aided by the purchase of two new moving lights and a haze machine, which was facilitated by the gracious fundraising support of the De La Salle Parent Network. Thanks to their assistance, we are now able to create stunning theatrical shows for both Music and Drama events in the PAC.

The winners of the Battle of the Bands was Year 10 outfit White Dye, and they will go on to represent the College at the ACC Battle of the Bands in September.

The winner and runner up of the Vocal Contest (Jordan Genovese and Jonathan Paola) will each receive a professional quality recording session of a song of their choice to include in their artist portfolios.

Congratulations to all performers for your fine efforts and engaging performances. We look forward to the 2024 edition in great anticipation of an even bigger and better event.
