THE DUCE NEWSLETTER ISSUE 12

19 AUGUST 2021

Kinnoull Campus
Year 10 - 12

During the upcoming weeks, it is vitally important that students take control of their own health and wellbeing. Making time for regular routines that include good sleep cycles, diet and regular exercise will all contribute to students feeling positive about their overall health and wellbeing. Research has shown that when our self-efficacy is good, we are more likely to be motivated and perform at our optimal levels.

Throughout remote learning, the Mentors and House Coordinators have continued to encourage their students to engage in something meaningful outside of study that supports good health and wellbeing. Recently, Kinnoull staff and students participated in a House based steps challenge. It was extremely encouraging to see large participation rates across both staff and students. Congratulations to St Edwin’s House Coordinator, Jess Stevenson and St Edwin’s House who in total walked/ran the most steps for the challenge.

There are a number of organisations such as ReachOut and beyondblue that provide young people with an abundance of supportive resources and useful tools that will further enable their capacity to take responsibility for their own wellbeing.

If you have any concerns regarding the wellbeing of your son during remote learning, please reach out to his mentor in the first instance.

Stay safe.
