With the current 2021 Student College Leaders still actively involved in supporting the community until the end of the academic year, the current Year 11 student cohort have recently been involved in deciding the College Student Leaders for 2022. Initially, 15 students presented their vision to the College community with the final six candidates interviewed last week.

As always, it’s was a tremendous privilege to be involved in the interview process. In listening to the young men succinctly articulate their reasons for wanting such a significant role, a common thread in their responses was a desire to make a positive impact in our community. Underpinning this was a strong desire to promote positive attitudes towards mental health issues amongst young men. The promoting of respectful relationships of both men and women in our society was another key area of focus in their interviews. It gives me great pleasure to announce the following Student College Leaders for 2022:

College Captain: Peter Orlando
|
Peter has held many leadership positions within the College including 2016 De La Salle Primary Captain, 2019 Holy Eucharist Vice Captain and 2020 Year 10 St Mark's House Captain. Peter’s involvement in cultural events at the College includes multiple school productions and being a member of the ACC Debating Team.

College Vice Captain: Sean MacNamara
|
Sean has previously held the position of Year 9 Holy Eucharist Vice Captain and is currently the Year 11 St Leo’s House Captain. Sean has represented the College in ACC Debating and Public Speaking since Year 7. He is also a keen soccer player, representing the College ACC Soccer Team since Year 7.

College Vice Captain: Ralph Howard
|
Ralph has held the position of St Leo’s House Captain in Years 9, 10 and 11. Ralph joined the College ACC Debating Team in 2020 to satisfy his competitive nature due to the lack of sport available last year. A keen sportsman, Ralph has represented the College across a number sports including; cricket, AFL, hockey and athletics.

This week, the senior 2022 House Captains interview process will take place. These positions will be announced in the next edition of The Duce.
