Our start to round 1 this season was amazing. In the first two days of games, we won 7 of 10 games played, with one of the losses being a double overtime loss in the senior basketball. In the most thrilling game played at a packed De La Salle gym, our Year 7 and 8 fans were loud and almost lifted the team to the win.

All three hockey teams started the season extremely well with three big wins. According to senior coach, Liz Phibbs, “that was the easiest 4-0 win I’ve seen, and we are missing players.” These are good signs for our hockey teams which are all looking forward to getting back into action after this short hiatus.

Table tennis also had big wins for the Year 9 and 10 teams. After talking to the students of the Year 10 team, they described their 58 games to 17 games smashing as “almost disrespectful”. The Year 9s are also feeling accomplished after their 43 games to 32 win.

Although we didn’t have the Year 7s and 8s play due to the lockdown, from what I hear they are super excited to get out there and represent their College.
