Learning and Teaching

Learning & Teaching
In the recent movement from remote learning back to face-to-face learning and teaching, we have seen, as with previous instances of this transition, that there is much to keep track of. Learning timelines have been adjusted, along with assessment arrangements, as well as a number of events and activities.

As a result, students’ attention to communication from teachers and school leaders is crucial. Students need to be alert to any changes to set programs and routines, so that they are prepared to do their best in engaging with their schoolwork. Asking teachers when unsure is important, for the sake of clarity and surety.

Year 12
Our Unit 3 & 4 students are this year, as in previous years, faced with an increasing set of demands as they draw closer to the conclusion of their coursework and the commencement of exams. The message to students throughout the year has been to create study and revision routines that enable regular revisiting of content covered from the start of Unit 3. With the schedule of frequent assessments this Term, it is a timely reminder that short but regular pockets of study for each subject, in addition to preparation for SACs, will create a deeper understanding of the material. This will enable students to go in to the end of year examination period with confidence. The trial exams traditionally held over the September break are a time to determine where refinement or polishing up of understanding is needed. Students will benefit most from this experience by being well prepared for the trial exams.
