Holy Eucharist Campus
Year 9

On the evening of Monday 20 June, Year 9 staff and students were buzzing with nervous excitement for our Year 9 Project-Based Learning (PBL) Exhibition held at Holy Eucharist Campus. Across the previous four days, the Year Level had prepared for the event with focused and passionate group learning geared towards constructing a grand project.

With the freedom to choose their groups and project idea, the energy and high spirits of our students were evident with a few parents contacting the College to share that their son was excited to go back to school the next day! 43 groups were self-established with so many different enquiry questions propelling projects forward.

This buzz continued with the attendance of hundreds of parents, guardians, and members of the community on the night. The atmosphere was just electric with attendees flocking to all locations where projects were set up, not just their son’s table, and enjoying a chat by the coffee cart and snack area on the deck. With student projects on display, visitors were asked to use the QR code and vote for their top 3 favourite projects. With over 180+ votes, it was wonderful to see the community rally behind our Year 9s who had worked tirelessly over the four days to build something representative of their passions.

The winning groups for our two awards included:
People’s Choice Award: How do helmets protect the brain?
Holy Eucharist Staff Award: How can we use molecular gastronomy to make food more sustainable?
