Student Wellbeing
A warm welcome back to all families and students in 2023. The coming year will no doubt prove to be an exciting and engaging one, as we all settle back into the routines and rhythms of the school term.

As the year begins, I would like to extend my thanks to all students and parents for their support of our uniform and mobile phone policies. It has been fantastic to see our well-presented students in their Blue and Gold blazers, ready to make the most of their time at school. It has also been wonderful to see our students moving around the College, in and out of the classroom, without mobile phones in hand.

We know that mobile phones can lead to issues with online bullying, cyber safety, sexting, gaming and gambling, and lack of boundaries around appropriate times for phone use. We also know that excessive use of mobile devices often comes at the expense of focus and attention, and the building of face to face communication skills.
|
Students having their phones in their lockers whilst on the College grounds has proved to be a step in the right direction for more social, more safe and more engaged De La Salle students.
