Primary Wellbeing Day

The Year 5 and 6 students have been learning about health and wellbeing in Inquiry this term. Last week they undertook a Wellbeing Day around the Tiverton campus that was titled “Be Your Own Hero”. This included a yoga class that concentrated on movement, strength and breathing; they listened to published author Reuben Cullen who wrote “A Hero Born”, completed their VIA strengths test and used Smiling Mind to become more mindful.

Many thanks to the Primary Team who created the day. It was terrific to see all the students engage in the workshops, try new things and extend their knowledge about themselves and who they may become. Hopefully we see some very calm, in control and confident Year 5 and 6 students when they return in Term 2

Year 7 Camp

It feels like only yesterday we were welcoming our new Tiverton students to the start of the 2023 school year. Much has changed in the past term, both physically and emotionally. Our Tiverton students have worked on their organisation, navigating a challenging, but engaging school timetable with new learning spaces; not only building relationships with their peers, but also with many new teachers.

To finish off a busy term, the entire Year 7 cohort journeyed to Lord Somers Camp for a three day, two night adventure camp for our new students to the College. Students loved the thrill of stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, a talk from Indigenous culture leaders that included spear throwing and fire making, and a long walk along the beautiful Somers beach. This camp set up all our mentor groups perfectly for the rest of Year 7. Students discovered and challenged their own strengths and capabilities and embarked on adventures that created lifelong friends and memories.
