Science Week

Another year, another brilliant Science Week at De La Salle College. Students across Tiverton, Holy Eucharist and Kinnoull were treated to a range of engaging Science activities, all designed to get them excited and engaged with Science.

Tiverton saw the return of the annual Escape Room, where students had 30 minutes to solve eight puzzles, before a hydrogen bomb 'exploded'. Students at Kinnoull got their hands dirty using fondant and lollies, trying to design the best 'science themed' cookie (taste testing optional). Our wonderful science team treated students to an array of demonstrations, including the ever-popular 'blast off' where mentos and coke are mixed together. Alongside these hands-on activities, was the daily Science Quiz where students and staff had to get those brains working to answer a series of questions across the five days. 2023 saw the inception of the first ever 'De La Salle Shirty Science' competition, where students were encouraged to design their own Science themed t-shirt.

It was a massive, messy, sugar-fuelled week of fun activities! A huge thanks to each and every budding scientist (students and staff) who got involved. A very big congratulations to St Leo’s House who took out top spot in their first ever Science Week win!
