Year 7 Camp reflections
“Crazy, hectic, full on!” Olly
“Challenging leaving Mum and Dad, but exciting activities like the flying fox, canoeing and aeroball!” Oscar
“Even if it’s scary, do the Leap of Faith!” Will
Our Year 7 students have settled in well, forming new friendships and building a strong sense of belonging.
A highlight of the term was Year 7 Camp, an important step in each student’s transition to secondary school. Across three days, students built confidence, strengthened friendships and embraced new challenges. It was especially pleasing to see boys support one another, show resilience and step up with quiet leadership.
The camp has set a strong foundation for a connected and confident cohort.
Through GROW, students have also been introduced to our De La DNA, building an understanding of the College’s values, the story of our Founder, and what it means to be an effective learner at De La Salle. This is complemented by a strong focus on mental health and wellbeing.
In Term 2, students will engage with programs such as Toolbox and Elephant Ed, supporting key areas of personal development including respect, relationships and online safety.
