Year 6 Camp

In Year 6, the focus shifts to exploring the nation’s capital with a trip to Canberra. This camp provides students with a firsthand opportunity to engage with Australia’s political and cultural history, enhancing their understanding of national identity and governance. Through visits to iconic landmarks and interactive learning experiences, students gain insights into the democratic process and the significance of Australia’s heritage, enriching their academic knowledge beyond the classroom.

Year 7 Camp

Moving into Year 7, the camp to Somers serves as a pivotal moment for students to forge deeper connections with their peers and build a sense of community within their cohort. Through team-building activities, outdoor challenges, and shared experiences, students develop communication skills, empathy, and respect for one another. This camp not only strengthens social bonds but also fosters a supportive and inclusive school culture where every student feels valued and accepted.

Year 8 Camp

Year 8 brings a focus on outdoor education with a camp designed to immerse students in the benefits of nature and outdoor recreation. By experiencing activities such as hiking, camping, and wilderness survival skills, students develop practical outdoor skills while also gaining an appreciation for the natural environment. This camp encourages physical activity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, instilling in students a sense of environmental stewardship and the importance of outdoor pursuits for physical and mental well-being.

Year 9 Camp

Our Year 9 students embark on a challenging yet rewarding four-day canoeing expedition down the Murray River. This immersive wilderness experience pushes students out of their comfort zones, encouraging resilience, self-reliance, and perseverance as they navigate the river and camp in tents along the way. Through overcoming obstacles and working together as a team, students develop leadership skills, resourcefulness, and a deep sense of accomplishment, culminating in a profound and memorable outdoor adventure that shapes their character and prepares them for future challenges.

Overall, the progressive camp program offers a holistic approach to student development, encompassing personal, social, and academic growth across the years. By providing diverse and progressively challenging experiences, the program equips students with essential life skills, fosters resilience and self-confidence, and nurtures a lifelong appreciation for learning, adventure, and the great outdoors.
