On Monday 9th of September the College will be celebrating a day that ‘brings colour’ to the daily lives of the De La Salle students.
This event has been orgainised by the College Leaders to raise money for ‘Challenge’ in the name of Magnus Urban; a Year 6 student who was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier in the year.
“Challenge brings colour and relief to the lives of children and families living with cancer as they face the pressures of a life-threatening illness. With an emphasis on ‘fun’, we provide a range of practical services and therapies and a program of tailored experiences that remind them how good life can be.” (http://www.challenge.org.au)
In accordance with Challenge’s philosophies a number of events, ‘with an emphasis on ‘fun’’, will be held at Tiverton throughout lunchtime to help make it a memorable occasion. Students across both campuses will be permitted to wear casual clothing following a gold-coin donation to Challenge (via their Homeroom Teacher).
Ashton Agar (De La Salle 2011 & debut for Australia at the recent Ashes Cricket Tour) has also kindly donated a signed cricket bat which will be raffled off (the Leaders will begin selling tickets on Wednesday of next week). Raffle tickets can also be purchased by the parents from the Tiverton Office. All proceeds of the raffle will go to Challenge.
