Principal’s Welcome

Our Philosophy at De La Salle College is centred on our core mission and commitment to accompany our students to learn, live and lead.

De La Salle College sees learning as a lifelong pursuit where our students are nurtured and expected to use their gifts and talents to pursue excellence, and to live lives focussed on developing themselves for a world where they will, in turn help others flourish.  As committed educators we know we are developing our next generation to lead society, in service, through the challenges and opportunities to come.

De La Salle College is a place where every student is known and heard. Our significant pastoral system and unique size, supports our teachers and tutors with the opportunity to engage in the holistic development to build young men of character and resilience who can be hope-filled and confident in their service to others and development of self.  This will at times call us to be counter-cultural in the development of our young men, a challenge we embrace and relish.

Steeped in the Lasallian tradition since 1912, our broad academic, social, outdoor education, music, sport, and service programs develop young men with a strong moral compass, exhibiting compassion for those around them. We are a welcoming Catholic College that respects the religious affiliation of every member of the community, committed to inclusion as the impetus to community.

De La Salle College strives to build and implement programs to enable our young men to be educated in a respectful, encouraging, contemporary learning environment where values, expectations and academic achievement are reinforced.  Evidenced through our outstanding VCE results, our educators know and understand boys. We encourage leadership, vision and innovation in teaching and learning and support students’ growth and development.

De La Salle College seeks to challenge our students to challenge themselves so that together, in partnership with families, we can grow young men to be the best version of themselves and be ready to embrace the world.
